ARK Plastics LLC. currently process over 300,000 pounds of plastics annually. We have the capabilities to produce parts from many different types of engineered theromoplastics. Below is a list of some of the most comon types of plastics that we currently mold.

Polyethylene: This is the most widely used plastic. Its uses include toys, lids, buckets, containers. One third of all toys are made out of polyethylene.

Polystyrene: Pure solid polystyrene is a colorless, hard plastic. This type of plastic has limited flexibility and can be cast into molds with fine detail. Polystyrene is used in disposable cutlery, CD cases, alarm housings and toy models.

Polypropylene: Heat resistance is one of the features of polypropylene. Because of this heat resistance, typical applications include food containers that will not melt in the dishwasher and medical items that can withstand the heat in an autoclave. Other uses include cups, containers, housewares and automotive batteries.

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene): This is a common plastic used to make lightweight rigid products such as automotive body parts, wheel covers, protective head gear, kitchen appliances and toys. ABS features include good shock absorbance, impact resistance and toughness properties.

Nylon: Low to medium stress components such as machine screw. gears and parts that were previously cast in metal. Characteristics of nylon include high durability, excellent abrasion resistance, variations of luster, and high resistance to insects, molds mildew, rot and many chemicals.
